KOKOSY

Kolin Chamber Symfony

This independent orchestra was founded in 2004 by young musicians with a desire give life to their songwriting and experimentation. The pillars of their repertoar included signature arrangements of famous big screen and small screen melodies such as Pyšná Princezna (The Vain Princess) Jen Počkej, Zajici! (Just You Wait, Rabbit!) Třicet Případů Majora Zemana (The Thirty Cases of Major Zeman) Krkonošské Pohádky (Stories from Krkonoše Mountains) and others.

All compositions excelled with typical humor, playfulness and changes of motifs, and often included audience participation. The ensemble also played with formations.

The Kokosy Orchestra were inspired by classical symphonic casting, but had an brasswind section and rythm section. Together with the soloist they were able to achieve a clean vocal, jazz, bigband or rock sound as needed.

Kokosy performed in cities and festivals, had concerts in Prague’s Lucerna Hall. They also worked together with the Prague Chamber Philharmony (PKF – Prague Philharmonia), with whom the performed in the concert hall of Rudolfinum in Prague, Czech Republic.
